ARLINGTON COUNTY IS CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR THE POSITION OF
DEPUTY SHERIFF
Earn a starting salary of $50,419 while working only 15 days per month Work mostly 12-hour fixed shifts with evening shifts earning an extra $1.00 per hour.
Receive full salary and benefits while attending the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy where you will earn certifications in both corrections and law enforcement upon graduation. A Deputy Sheriff performs a variety of duties either in corrections, inmate transportation, service of legal process or courtroom/courthouse security. Initial assignment will be in our state of the art direct supervision detention facility.

Testing for Deputy Sheriff I position will be at The Arlington County Courthouse (1425 N. Courthouse Road)
Next testing Dates will be:
Saturday, May 5, 2018 @ 10 AM
Thursday, June 7, 2018 @ 6 PM
The examination does not require any advanced preparation or study. Candidates should arrive 30 minutes prior to test start time. Testing takes about 3 hours. No late admissions. Must present a valid photo ID at time of testing. Convenient to the Court House Metro stop (Orange Line) and on-site (metered) parking is also available. Electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, PDA’s, cameras, etc.) are not allowed in the Courthouse. They may be secured in an adjacent building for a nominal charge.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS § High school diploma or GED equivalent
At least 21 years of age at time of appointment
U.S. citizen at time of application
Valid driver’s license
Applicants will not be considered for the position of Deputy Sheriff for the below listed Disqualifiers
· Any Felony arrests or convictions.
· Any domestic violence convictions.
· Dishonorable discharge from military.
· DWI convictions within the last 3 years.
· Tattoos that cannot be covered by a standard long-sleeve uniform.
